It's HOT Outside!!

This week at Coooking With Cricut (CWC) our theme is very fitting to the weather we are experiencing here in KC!  This week our theme is:

For this week I selected this photo of Daulton at the pool to make a summer colored 12x12 scrapbook layout using Cricut's Life's A Beach cartridge.

The base of the beach ball was cut in white, then the accents were cut using 4 different colors.  A little time consuming but I think the result was worth it!!
I love this patterned cardstock, it has lines of shimmery bright colors!

Layered some stickers and used my Glaze pens for the little journal spot.  (I am sad to report that one of my FAVORITE Glaze pens exploded!!!  There was pink/purple everywhere in my pen case.)  Now I have to try to find one to replace it without buying the entire package.  Although I like all of my Glaze pens.....it was one of my favorites.

Chipboard letters from my stash.  A few of them are popped up using foam tape for dimension.

I smile (and even giggle out loud) EVERY time I look at this picture of my DS and his green goggles.  He loved his green goggles almost as much as the pool itself!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head on over to CWC and link up your project to celebrate fun things to do in and around water!  I can't wait to see what you create!

CWC Jen's Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to the CookingWithCricut.com and PaperCraftingWorld.com Designers June Blog Hop. I hope you joined the Blog Hop yesterday and have had a chance to see all of the great projects from the different designers. If you have come from Jamie's blog then you are moving along on the right direction. If you would like to start from the beginning, please head over to CookingWithCricut.com.

This month our hop theme is all about Birthdays and one special one in mind. Our wonderful DT Coordinator Jen Hudson’s birthday just happened to fall on Saturday so we decided to make it a celebration weekend with birthday inspired projects with a “Jen” theme in mind. Our "GO TO" gal is a die-hard Florida Gator Fan. Our goal was to use elements on our projects that reflected Our GATOR FOR LIFE Gal’s FANCY;  Florida, The Florida Gators and anything that would make you think of the Sunshine State. Jen is the last stop on our blog line up so be sure to hop through and leave her some extra special love at the end!

For the Blog Hop today I created a birthday card and candy sundae.

Cricut Cartridges - Create a Critter (pg. 45), Life's a Party (pg. 21, 41)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folders - Happy Birthday, Mosaic
Stickles: True Blue, Orange
Misc. cardstock and ribbon

Thanks for stopping by the Birthday Blog Hop! Be sure to head over to CWC and leave a comment for a chance to win some great blog candy! Now on to your next stop Charlotte.

Hope you are all enjoying Summer.  It is too hot here (upper 90's)  to enjoy the great outdoors for too long during the day.

This week at Cooking with Cricut we are celebrating the 1st Day of Summer!!

For this challenge I created invitations and food labels.

The Enjoy all Seasons Imagine Cricut Cartridge was used for the invitation.

With some Stickles added to jazz it up a bit.

The From My Kitchen Cricut Cartridge was used for the food label.

With a rhinestone cherry and green Stickles for the leaf.

Hope this project gives you an idea or two on how to celebrate Summer wtih a BBQ or picnic.  I would love to see what you create.  Please link up your project to our Challenge over at Cooking with Cricut

Sorry about the darkness of the photos.  I hope there is a Christmas in July!!!!  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE a white box to use when photographing my crafts.

Thanks for stopping by.

Father's Day Inspiration

First of all.....
DALE
STOP READING THIS NOW!!

I am serious....
STOP RIGHT NOW
BEFORE YOU RUIN THE SURPRISE!!!!

Okay, now that the warning is out of the way......

Members of the Cooking with Cricut Design Team have been hard at work creating Father's Day keepsakes of all shapes and sizes.

For this Father's Day I created this 12x12 scrapbook frame using the Father's Day Cricut cartridge and red vinyl.

This page features SOME of Daulton's favorite pictures with his dad.  We actually couldn't fit ALL of the pictures he selected on the layout.  I see a mini "mega" album coming up in my future. :o)  Oops - that's another spoiler alert!   When I asked Daulton why he chose these photos he simply said..."because they are the BEST memories EVER!"

For those of you wondering, YES that is a 46.5 lb cat fish the "boys" caught on the Warrior River in Alabama.

Hope this framed scrapbook page inspires you to create something special this Father's Day. I can't wait to see what you create.  Link up your project at Cooking with Cricut.  New projects only please, no back linking.  Thank you.
